Gapless metal oxide arrester with composite coating (hereinafter referred to as arrester) for AC power system is used to limit system overvoltage and protect power transmission and transformation products from overvoltage damage. The arrester is mainly composed of high-voltage terminal, metal oxide resistor, external insulation, low-voltage terminal and lower flange. The external insulation is high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV), which is injection molded at one time. The low-voltage terminal of the arrester is used to connect the on-line monitor or discharge counter. The high-voltage terminal of the arrester with rated voltage grade of 192kv and above is equipped with a voltage equalizing ring.
